Venue Rentals

Thanks for your interest in hosting an event with us. The High Line is reserved for a limited number of special events each year. Revenue from these events support the maintenance and operations of the High Line. Several spaces on the High Line are available as private rentals, and we are glad to help identify the perfect setting for your occasion.

The High Line is an outdoor park with no enclosed spaces, so there are limitations on the types of special events we can host. While we welcome winter events, our venues are busiest from April – November as we cannot provide heat. Built as a structure to carry freight trains, we do not have meeting space, dressing rooms, or a green room. At this time, Friends of the High Line does not host wedding receptions.

The Chelsea Market Passage
Capacity: 350 for seated dinner | 500 for reception
This soaring, covered passage provides excellent ambiance for a range of events. With approximately 5,900 square feet of space, structural elements that emphasize the original architecture of the High Line, and Spencer Finch’s stained glass installation, The River That Flows Both Ways, the Chelsea Market Passage is well suited to cocktail receptions, fashion shows, seated dinners, weddings, and other special events. The Chelsea Market Passage is the High Line’s largest and most sophisticated venue.

The 14th Street Passage
Capacity: 100 for seated dinner | 150 for reception
The 4,000 square foot corridor at 14th Street is a dramatic presence on the High Line. Events in the space occur on the west side of the split passageway and the raw, structural elements lend themselves to design for parties, screenings, dinners, and receptions. The 14th Street Passage is a space that can be converted easily and is only limited by your imagination.

The Diller-von Furstenberg Sundeck
Capacity: 500 for reception
Located between the Chelsea Market Passage and the 14th Street Passage, the Diller-von Furstenberg Sundeck can be rented to entertain guests in conjunction with one of these two venues. This open-air walkway is perfect for cocktail hours or maximizing space in which to entertain guests. It offers expansive views of the Hudson River, access to the High Line’s popular water feature, and benches that allow guests a seat among some of the most beautiful, lush plantings on the High Line. The Diller-von Furstenberg Sundeck has a fresh, trendy tone that compliments the magnitude of the venues at both ends.

The Porch
Capacity: 45 for seated dinner | 60 for reception
This 660 square foot outdoor venue offers an intimate setting for smaller events. A sophisticated, beautiful space, the Porch is bordered by the ornamental rails of the High Line structure, beyond which are sweeping views of sunsets over the Hudson River.
