Artist Charles Mary Kubricht, whose High Line installation Alive-nesses: Proposal for Adaptation draws inspiration from World War I military warship camouflage, is joined in conversation by Dr. Timothy O’Neill, a military expert in camouflage.

The conversation will explore the intersection of camouflage and art, revealing the psychology and engineering behind the concealment of what is otherwise visible.

Re-staging an artwork that was originally performed in 1978, artist Channa Horwitz joins eight vocalists in reading from 25-foot-long scripts to the reckless beat of a metronome.

High Line Art Performance: Simone Forti, 'Huddle'

In Simone Forti’s experimental dance, which was originally performed in 1961, dancers begin by tightly hugging each other with their knees bent to form a huddle. The huddle then moves along the High Line as one dancer after another detaches from the group, climbs the human formation, and reunites with the huddle.

High Line Kids: Museum Morning with the Whitney Museum

In May, Friends of the High Line is teaming up with different museums to host art activities inspired by the city.

This Saturday, kids can join Whitney Family Programs to create their own architectural drawings and learn about the Whitney Museum’s new building project next to the High Line.

The High Line Children’s Workyard Kit will also be available.

In May, Friends of the High Line is teaming up with different museums to host art activities inspired by the city.

This week, join the Children’s Museum of the Arts to draw and collage your own city views using natural materials. The collages will then be added together to create a giant mural.

The High Line Children’s Workyard Kit will also be available.
