Earlier today, we took a major step toward building the final section of the High Line.
The City of New York has launched the public review process for a zoning text amendment that will permanently secure the High Line at the rail yards, including the Spur, as public open space.

Join us tonight for the kick off of the second installment of HIGH LINE CHANNEL, featuring daily screenings of Selected Recent Works by experimental filmmaker Jennifer West. West works with “direct film,” or film realized without the use of a camera. She exposes the film strip to a variety of substances, such as coffee, mascara, and habanero sauce, or by staging interactive events where people perform actions to the film strip, like snowboarding or skateboarding directly on it. Friends of the High Line is seeking proposals for innovative, sustainable, and affordable food on the High Line in 2012. There are three opportunities for savory food stands in the Chelsea Market Passage, and one opportunity to operate The Porch, an area with more than 50 seats and sweeping views of the Hudson River.
